Nigeria’s record holder, Favour Ofili, is set to make her debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics, competing in the women’s 200m on Sunday.
Drawn in heat 6, Ofili will face tough competition, including Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith and Gambia’s Gina Bass-Bittaye. This will be Ofili’s first appearance at the Games after being excluded from the 100m event.
While this opportunity doesn’t entirely make up for the disappointment of missing out on the 100m, it offers a chance for redemption and alleviates some of the frustration from the previous setback.
Ofili’s participation in the 200m is a significant moment for Nigeria, as she looks to shine on the international stage and bring pride to her nation.
Keep an eye out for our Nigerian star girl as she aims to make her mark at Paris 2024.
